Design me a Product

Looking for a consumer product designer with mechanical & electrical engineering experience. The product is in the concept-prototype stage. The product, people, and community surrounding this project are of the alternative, less traditional nature. An artistic & creative design mind will better understand the vision. We encourage a stylish, yet minimalist approach to the product design, while exploring different solutions that are cost efficient and provide a better end-user experience. The designer will have a great deal of flexibility in selecting materials, assembly method and appearance. Design and sourcing help is required to get the product manufacturing ready. Throughout the entire process, the freelancer will lead, participate and support the following product development activities: Initial deliverables of this project will be: (Hourly rate, fixed budget) Concept design (3D Model with AutoCAD, SolidWorks etc) Design reviews Evaluates mechanical and electrical systems of our product by applying principles of mechanics, heat transfer, electronics and materials. Sourcing (and communication) components, manufacturers and assemblers within the area (Shen Zhen, China) Secondary deliverables are: (Contract term, fixed budget) Prototyping and testing concept designs and initial engineering builds Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components of the product. Design reviews Product usability testing Pre-production Testing and Certification for export We will be in Shen Zhen to assist with the secondary section All electronic files will be delivered in an open, editable format to the client. Required knowledge and skills:
 AutoCAD, SolidWorks or ProE Mechanical/electrical application of LED Lighting (LGP, Diffusion) & Controllers Materials: Acrylic, Aluminum, Plastics, Wood and Rubber. Rapid prototype design and build for proof of concept Can communicate in English well. Written and verbal. Based on how we feel about you and your performance, rates are always open to negotiation.
