2 Dimensional (2D) animation is a kind of animation designed in a 2D context rather that in 3D context. Where 3-D involves the creation of characters and environments out of thousands of tiny digital polygons and adding animations with computer code, 2D animation doesn’t involve any virtual spaces or fanciful digital models but simply engage a more straightforward approach, such as drawing the frames of each scene and allowing the brain to finish the rest.
2D animation is more of typography, showing just a single side view as oppose the 3-D, which is similar to photography and adds more visual angles. A number of modern digital tools have been developed for 2D animators. These are highly-specialized tools which can either perform one function or perform almost everything needed for creating a full-length 2D animation.
