Local Device Media Download and Playback.

I have a webpage playing a video and an audio file on a loop. I want to be able to download the software to the local device, then use the local file in the HTML5 player in the browser, rather than the remote file on my server. The solution must: - not display errors in the browser console such as "Not allowed to load local resource" - Work on multiple devices - - Chromebox (must) - - Windows and Linux (must) - - Mac (bonus) - - Android based TV's (bonus) - Use a configuration file to store the location to save the files to - be able to purge files on command The solution does not need a UI. If it is running a service on a port that is accessible via the browser, that I can send a GET / POST request for initiating commands that is preferred. The main focus is on Chromebox. So the software needs to run on Chromebox, Windows, Linux and if possible Mac, Android TV's. The files will come from an API, the idea is to have the least amount of user input possible. Basically the use cases are: 1. A user in our system: A user who has an account in our system and wants to play files in the HTML5 player. They will go to the website and be prompted to install the system if it's not detected. The installer is downloaded, they are prompted for their API key and the install location. The system runs silently and they continue to operate with no visible change. 2. The current software uses the new software (I'm open to change this use case as required): The current software software begins playing, it requests files from the local system. If it isn't found, it prompts the user to download the file. The software sends requests for files to the local system, if they aren't found, the local system requests them from the API. The next time the system requests the same file and it's found, the local file is used in the HTML5 player instead of streaming the remote file.
