Hi I'm not sure if this is similar, but I have code to creating tree structures for Supply chains spanning multiple businesses and production lines. The ones I build usually span about 5000-9000 nodes, each node with a host of data and the ability to gather data from the tree by issuing commands at the root. If the dataset contains a dense graph, then I recommend prim algorithm, which will have O(N^2) running time(N means the number of nodes); else if it is a sparse graph, then Kruskal, which have O(MlogM) time(M means the number of edges).
