I am looking for an online voting system (or data entry program) whereby candidates may stand for more than one position such as President, Vice-President and a number of Board members. Votes will be cast for all positions at the same time. Voters to rank candidates from “1 to the number of candidates” listed, with the candidate receiving the most number “1’s” declared the winner. If a candidate has nominated for more than one position and is successful in the higher ranked position, then votes cast for him/her in the lower position will become void, and the voter’s next preference shall be counted as the vote for the position. Eg. I voted for candidate “A” for both the President and Vice-president. Candidate A was duly elected as president, therefore my 2nd preference for Vice-president is to count as my No1 vote. President Candidate A receives 50 votes and declared the winner Candidate B receives 30 votes Candidate C receives 20 votes Vice-president Candidate A receives 30 votes but elected to a higher position i.e votes with 1st preference will be void. The 2nd preference votes will deemed the 1st vote and redistributed to that candidate. Candidate B receives 25 votes plus 25 2nd preference i.e 50 votes and declared the winner Candidate C receives 25 votes plus 5 2nd preference votes’ i.e 30 votes Candidate D receives 10 votes Candidate E receives 10 votes Board Members x7 7 highest elected except if candidate has been elected into a higher position (president & vice-president) and if so, the candidates votes will be void and redistributed as described above. i.e. potentially the 8th and 9th highest may become elected after the votes are redistributed.
