PC Network report tool

Hi, I have a lot of experience with wireshark and winpcap and I've already written applications like this one. I also have some experience with LUA, the scripting language wireshark uses should the need arise. I've also extensive network programming experience in various languages ranging from C to Python and I used Wireshark on a daily basis for several months. However I am not 100% sure about the scope of your project. Does this involve writing the receiving HTTPS server as well? From what I understand, you have 3 parts, the packet capture and filtering, the https upload and the smtp sending. All of this should be easy to deal with in C#. Also if you could clarify what kind of filtering you want (ip:port or deep protocol analysis), it would help me get a clearer picture. I hope you will consider my bid. Eric

Questions: 1. Pcap (packet capture) consists of an application programming interface (API) for capturing network traffic, is there any specific API that I have to use for this purpose? 2. "once application is launched from the desktop it will present all running applications and prompt user to close all apps except for the one they are testing" --> some hosts windows applications cannot be stopped is that ok?

Greetings, I can create this app for you with the use of libpcap which is what Wireshark uses to capture packets. Sending the data to a server is also possible via HTTPS provided the domain the database is located on is HTTPS enabled. A GUI and report system via excel or txt can also be done. For email to be possible the app will require email host settings such as Gmail/Yahoo etc, this is because not every installation of the app will have a SMTP server on it.
