Database/webservice system for PayPal recurring billing

Our software product will use the PayPal Enhanced Recurring Payment Website Payments Standard module to monitor billing the client's monthly subscription billing. Our previously developed (standalone) product will run on the user's PC, but each month a query must be made to PayPal to determine whether the user is still an active subscriber (that is, their credit card is still valid and they have not canceled their subscription). If the user is still active, our product will then run normally, but if the user is no longer an active user, our product will stop running. The credit card status query generated by the client's PC will interact with a webservice module which, in turn, will securely query PayPal before reporting the results to a service-side database and, ultimately, back to the user's PC. ## Deliverables Our software product will use the PayPal Enhanced Recurring Payment Website Payments Standard module to monitor billing the client's monthly subscription billing. There are four inter-related components to this project: 1. A website-based secure data entry form where users initiate a credit card purchase through PayPal's "Enhanced Recurring Payments Website Payment Standard" product. This code will be embedded into our Wordpress-based website. 2. A server-side mySQL database that uniquely identifies each user and the status of their subscription. 3. A webservice module that will securely transmit the inquiry from our software to the database, will coordinate the communication between the database and the PayPal system, will report the results of the PayPal inquiry to the database and back to the software on the user's PC. 4. A client-based module that initiates the monthly inquiry to the webservice module and receives the results from the webservice module in #3, above
