I have written an ECW(geo referenced) viewer that displays an image and allows zoom, pan, and distance measurment. It is written in msvc++ 6.0 using mfc. I need it enhanced to overlay ESRI shape file(vector) data on top of the Raster image. I have also written a class to read the shape files so you won't have to figure out the Esri spec... I am also needing some help on the print capability. For the first release both the ECW and the SHP files will be in the same projection. This project will be an ongoing one that will be a low cost GIS system when complete... The ECW doc's and sdk can be found a [login to view URL] the shape file doc is [login to view URL] Attached is the h file from the cEsriFile Class. The ecw is a raster file format that has real world coord's... You will know the top left X,Y and bottom right X,Y of the image being displayed. You then will query the shape class for all points or bounding boxes(a TL x,y and BR x,y for a multipoint record). The result from the shape file will be a set of shape records(PointRec is X,Y - Polyrecord is a series of parts(line segments) with each part having X,Y's of the points in the line segment. My code has a GetNextPart and GetNextPoint() that will give you the X,Y's for the PolyRec's... The viewer will give you window size and the TL x,y and BR X,Y of the image being displayed... Your code will need to write to the screen and to a memory buffer so that we can Print images using that have a smaller or larger resolution than the screen image. Please ask any other questions and I will reply asap... Regards, Ty GeoAerial
