Hello, I have working Extensively with KICAD in recent 2 years for most of my projects. So, without a doubt I'm very familiar with KICAD. Regarding to Microprocessor, we can use either simple ATMEL ATMEGA, stm32, or whatever you are comfort to work with. another components, we can choose which package you are prefer, either THT or SMD is fine. Hi There, we have gone through the project requirements, we can easily do the PCB routing for flex PCB as well as for FR4 PCB. is it compulsory to use Kicad? We can import DXF files in our CAD tool (Proteus). The deliverable will be set of gerber files required to print PCBs. As far as connection between FR4 PCB and flexible PCB is concerned it can be done through a connector like we do with cameras on raspberry pi. Please feel free to contact us. Regards, Shahbaz.

We are a team of engineer experienced in electronics, circuit design, PCB design, micro-controller programming, Arduino and wireless protocol. We have designed and developed circuits and products in the field of wearable, smart devices, home automation, power electronics, motors, IOT and sensor. We have designed a similar application where we build two pcbs circular in shape and stacked up. In order to connect two board we have used smaller pitch headers. The 1st board consist of MCU, USB, regulator and sensor while the 2nd board had LED's and its driver IC. Both are communicating using I2C. The entire design is done on KiCAD ( can share pictures of the board for reference). So based on this experience I think we can build the current board as well and since we have already build similar design, we also have good understanding of the restriction and points to remember while building the layout. We are capable of designing single, double and multi-layer boards using KiCad tools Along with designing we also support for pcb manufacturing / fabrication and component assembly of the board. Queries: 1. To connect the two boards, can we use header or do you want to use only vias? 2. Time line of the project? Hey, I have previously worked on rigid-flex/flex PCB. If you want rigid-flex PCB we need to design 4 layer PCB and 2 layers are appropriate for separate rigid and flex PCB attached with connector. I also went through your schematic, and I believe we can achieve the desired design, it would be great if you provide a pdf of the schematic. I can complete this project and provide Gerber files within a week.

Hi, I have 28 years of R&D experience in hardware and Firmware design. I have worked with several Processors, microcontrollers and FPGAs'. I have worked with Mentor PADS, Altium and Orcad for PCB design. But I can easily work with KiCAD as its much simpler software compared to Protel DXP Designer, Mentor PADS etc. have designed 18 layer PCBs with Intel processor, Kintex7 FPGA , DDR3 memories etc. Till date I have designed more than 100 PCB designs.
