Small graphic job

I have an image that I will use for the background on a blog.? Currently the background has a design on the left and right sides, with hard inward facing edges.? This works fine when a background is covered in the middle; however, for my new application it will not be covered.? ? Instead the top part of the background will be exposed and I am going to place text directly over it or on it.? If you win, your job will be two get rid of the hard edges that face inwards.? I would like some suggestions on the best way to do this, but maybe a design is created to link the two sides or at least extend the edges and then fade them as the go inwards. Attached to the bid request is a jpeg of the current background.? I will provide you the .psd to do the work and will require a layered psd to be returned.? I also have the original stock vector image that was used for the design work.? I can provide you the vector image too; however the coloring in the original vector image is different. ? Please note the time frame in which this needs to be done.? Thank you for looking.
