I see others over promise with timing. It would take at least 2 iterations between you and the supplier to ensure the outcome is correct. I am very fussy about speed of execution as well as fall over detection/handling (error). The trick to this is not to work with the cell object in excel, but to load the data into memory directly using .values2 properties. Then the algorithm must be chosen to ensure you get something like a O(logn). I am an engineer who does complex automation of process units, and programming is something I do for "fun".
