I need to to rename them, i.e. be able to program them so that they appear on the serial port under a specific name. Now they appear like this: /dev/cu/wchusbserial/1420 I need to be able to change their name so that they appear something like "name1", "name2", etc. One should probably read a little bit on this site, which I don't understand because it's Chinese: Any help would be highly appreciated! I am developing a cross platform software to be used on PC / Mac / Android. I used the example “Terminal” in Qt 5.6 and successfully open / read / write to a USB-to-serial Com port device. The USB chip is a FT232R made by FTDI () However, on Android counterpart, FTDI has only a java driver () for direct connection (not com port) and the sample code they provide is written in Eclipse.
