Design a new sport website

Can you design a beautiful web site with great user interface? If so, we have got a fun job for you: We are building a site for young people interested in street sports and need help with the design. ABOUT YOU This is a DESIGN job, not a developing job. If you or your organisation can also develop the site (in Drupal) that's great, but initially we need to do the designs. Please DO NOT apply if you are a developer and not a designer. This is a pro job. We are only interested in bids from pros with VERY good design skills, a very good knowledge of website information architecture and internet connectivity. The UI is just as important at the looks of the site, and you need to work not only with aesthetics but also with how the user interacts with the site and how the content is connected. You need to have a very good command of English and communicate well. This is a re-post of the job as the previous freelancer took many days to reply to emails and continously did not meet the deadlines we had agreed upon. We are professionals and offer quick commmunication, in-depth feedback and always pay on time. In return we expect to be able to trust the person(s) we are working with, and you must be quick to respond. If we find the right person, there wil be more work for that person in the future. You need to be ready to do many design revisions, if needed. The project manager you will be working with is a trained designer himself. We need at least 2 samples of previous work to consider bids - preferably more. ABOUT US We are a Danish communications agency doing part of the work at our office in Copenhagen but also enjoying to work with various international freelancers for other parts. The company was founded in 2005. ABOUT THE WORK The site is a web portal for street sports and will include: - A sophisticated calendar with galleries integrated with YouTube and Facebook. - Articles uploaded by users - Articles taken from various feeds - A "spot guide" where users can input data about certian locations (integration with Google Maps) And more ... An important part of the concept is that the user must be able to interact with the site in a variety of ways. Uploading media, embedding video, commenting etc. A lot of this content will then have to be associated with certain events in the calendar, both past and present. All this has to be done in ways that are intuitive for the user. Also, the site will operate with 8 various disciplines (skateboard, street basket etc.), and we want the user to be able to choose exactly what content he/she wants to see. It has to be easy to find just what the user is looking for, but also inviting to see what's happening in other disciplines. Using exposed filters could be a way of doing this. The site will include around 10-15 pages with varieties of the same basic design. Possibly a little more. Examples: - Front page - Calendar month view - Calendar week view - Calendar day view - Event page - Spot guide page - Article page We have a very strong preference for elegant, clean design with a very intuitive UI. We would prefer if the designs were made in Adobe Illustrator (though not essential), initially in a more sketchy way, but ultimately delivered as pixel perfect PSDs. The site will then be developed in Drupal CMS. A site map with all pages + a document with specifications will be provided prior to the start of job. ABOUT THE DEADLINE The work has been delayed due to the experience with the first designer that the work was assigned to. This means that we need you to be able to start work straight away and the designs to be completely finished with pixel perfect files in one month counting from the day we start the work. ABOUT THE PAY Like everybody, we are on a budget and look for comptetive rates. On the other hand, quality is essential here, and we are not looking for bargains but for top quality at a reasonable rate. Looking forward to hearing from you.
