Objective: obtain data of peer company names for all public companies in the U.S. through the SEC (Securities & Exchange Commission) database Edgar. Procedures: 1. The list of url to proxy statements (txt files), which contains peer group company names, is in the attached Excel file (worksheet "url_proxy_txt"). 2. If it helps, SEC also provides files in html format. The python code to obtain html files is in the attached Excel file (worksheet "url_proxy_html"). 3. Each company reports multiple peer companies. Please collect data for all these names. One example is provided in the Excel file (worksheet "data_needed"). The example is "AAR CORP" on 2-Sep-09. If the company reports primary peer group and secondary peer group, only the primary group data is needed. Although I can download all the txt files by myself, I think it's more efficient if I provide the list of urls. Please let me know the price and estimated days of finishing the project.
