Without having seen your database, I can only reference the Northwind database. It seems your requirement of REPORTING on color could be met by adding a "Color" field to the OrderDetails table (maybe what you've called "Project" table), and then working it into the forms/queries that support your reports. I'm a professional software developer, and have developed and maintained MS Access databases for the past 15 years, in a wide array of applications, including maintaining medical qualifications, tracking inventory and purchasing, data-mining against a back-end database, QA work tracking, and even a reservation program for a local RV park. I would like to modify/rebuild and finish your inventory Access database. I have several years experience using Access to make several databases including VBA automation. At a previous physical job (not Freelancer), I created or modified databases to (1) track tasks for several employees, and (2) track inventory parts that to be assembled into various completed products, tracked by part number, individual serial numbers, and individual sales to discrete customers. We did examine the Northwind base, but I ended up making a fresh one because of our special needs. For instance, many parts had to be combined into sub-assemblies, and many of those were combined in different ways for different products. (And would list how many raw materials are currently available, and the cost of assembling a completed product from those parts.) There was also a lot of VBA special features--customized buttons, special sorting and filtering features with highlights on the columns, and reading/writing from Excel sources. In a different database, the system split between a backend that held the data, and different front-ends at different computer stations: ranging from simple ones for clerk data entry, to a "CEO" front end that had full power to modify the database categories. And all database tables were designed with referential integrity directly through SQL, not through any wizard. I'm in the US, working in evenings & weekends.
