Mission – What is the company’s mission statement? Its strategic objectives? Product and Market – What are their product lines, their target market, their market size? Is it a global brand? Regional? Industry summary – How old is the industry? How big is it? How much is controlled by the top few companies? What was industry total revenue? Industry Environment. How big is it (total industry revenue)? Who is the major competition? The top brands? The history of the industry (is it new and emerging or old and mature?). Industry challenges, competition, change – What is the current status of the industry? Is it consolidating? Are regulations changing? Are consumer tastes changing? Are suppliers gaining or losing leverage? Are their start ups stealing market share? Are substitute products emerging or challenging profit margins? (Think Porters 5 forces) Markets – Is the market changing? Any emerging markets? Opportunities for growth? Part 2 Part 3 Final Paper - Milestone will be released.
