Techniques including linear program modeling, network optimization, sensitivity analysis, and dynamic programming will be discussed, alongside the solution methodologies for each. An small emphasis is put on programming these models, and subsequently solving them with AMPL. Have an understanding of and appreciation for the role of operations research analysis in industrial, service, and network applications. Recognize, formulate, and solve linear programs by hand using the Simplex Method and AMPL. Apply sensitivity analysis to solutions for "what if" management scenarios. Recognize, formulate, and solve network operations research problems such as the shortest path problem, the minimum spanning tree problem, and the maximal flow problem. Recognize, formulate, and solve integer programming problems using branch-and-bound techniques.

I am an industrial engineering 2008 graduate!! I am currently enrolled in Masters in Industrial Engineering, and luckily just completed Advanced Operations Research course the last semester. I know well; Linear Programming, Network Optimization (shortest path problem, the minimum spanning tree problem, and the maximal flow problem), Sensitivity Analysis, AMPL, LINGO, Integer Programming (branch-and-bound) I do have an understanding of and appreciation for the role of operations research analysis in industrial, service, and network applications because Industrial Engineering is my passion! However, honestly, I am not good in manual simplex. The lecturer skipped it in the course. But if necessary, I am capable of self-learning it!
