I need help with Wordpress and Hostgator

I had a website on [login to view URL] and bought a domain name from them, then I didn't like the wix platform because they are too slow, so I created another blog on Wordpress. Now I notice that I need a host and server to build a website thru Wordpress, so I bought the host service from Hostgator. Now I have a problem: I still want the domain name which bought from Wix, but Wix doesn't allow any non-wix site link to the domain buy from them, so I tried to transfer my domain name to Hostgator and link my wordpress blog to the domain, but somehow it still not working. I'm kind of stuck now... All I want is just simply link the domain name I have to my own Wordpress site. Could anyone help me with this?
