OpenUrban is an open crowd sourced map and forum focusing on current urban development. We are a non-profit. Ideally we are looking for a collaborator who thinks the project is interesting and who we can build a good working relationship with over time. We don't want some anonymous person who finishes some code and then moves on to something else and we never hear from them again. (Maybe Freelancer isn't the best place to look for this, but it's worth a try). We are making a development push over the summer to finish a beta version of the site, which will be presented at the Istanbul Design Biennial. Check out or video trailer on our website to get a better idea about the project. [login to view URL] Site Overview: Semantic Mediawiki combined with Openlayers to provide the basic functionality. Custom Mediawiki skin and Mediaiwki widgets to update the interface. Tasks: Install and manage Mediawiki extensions and customize functions where necessary. Within the [login to view URL] you would be in charge of developing all functions except for the Map and Map editor. Specific Functions: Create new project page and structured data entry using Semantic Mediawiki Forms extension. Each new project page should automatically contain a: Comments Section, RSS Feed, Twitter Feed, Image Gallery, External Link Gallery, Structured Data Section, and Rating Bar. We like Mediawiki Semantic Forms Extension as a way to create a more streamlined user friendly experience for entering data into the wiki, but are open to other low cost/low maintenance solutions. *(Mapping functions are being developed by someone else.) Time Frame: July-August 2012 Required Skills: We are looking for someone who is great with PHP, Javascript, and MySQL. Bonus if are familiar with Mediawiki, Semantic Mediawiki, and OpenLayers.
