make an xml interface to existing php script

i have php script that displays in html, i want to be able to post xml to the script and recieve xml responce instead of html output. current html page, i input three values lookup is done on database to validate a value if its ok then database is updated with the other two values if not ok then error is shown. for new xml version: i want to post three values and have responce, Success or Failed
