Flash Multiplayer Game with Simple Graphics/Effects

Flash application will interact with a SQL database via a DotNetNuke module. Will be relatively simple in terms of graphics and effects. Will require real time “multiplayer?? display of graphics and real time audio chat for users. Real time audio/visual performance is a top priority and is essential for up to 40 players simultaneously. Picture a Google Satellite Image, controlling a motorcycle from a God’s eye view looking straight down on this 2D image. Now imagine multiple motorcycles driving on the same map seeing the same real time picture and being able to talk to each other at the same time. That is the essence of this game. If two cycles hit each other they are kicked out of the game and the other players finish. The graphical movement of each cycle is simple as shown in control description below. There are several types of users that can join a game. Controllers, Drivers, and Coaches. All players meet in a lobby until a Controller starts the game. KeyBoard Controls: COMMON TO ALL PLAYERS: SPACE BAR: Toggles Audio to All Players ON/OFF (click, talk, then click again to stop) DRIVER: LEFT ARROW: Turn left RIGHT ARROW: Turn right UP ARROW ??" Jump (cycle graphic gets bigger and then gets smaller returning to normal ground level size) PGUP ??" Increase forward speed PGDOWN ??" Decrease forward speed ENTER ??" Toggle taking control of the motorcycle The 2D God’s eye view map should load up from Google Maps (satellite imagery only) for a fixed area (coordinates for the four corners of the rectangle will be provided to the coder).
