We will reject OUT OF HAND any responses that do not do this. Project description: Our company clips articles out of newspapers and magazines for our clients. This is a manual process where clippers use Acrobat Professional to select the article of interest, remove the text around it, and upload it to our servers. We need a tool that will make the clipping process more efficient. Critical Tool Features: Supports cropping of multiple “clips” from a single PDF page Supports in-page text searching Renaming of cropped files when saved May be standalone, a plug-in to acrobat pro or other. Clipping Features: Articles may be “non-rectangular”- see “Crop 1” example in attachment ([login to view URL]) (note – all crop lines will be vertical or horizontal) (this feature is not absolutely required but would be very nice to have. Another way we could deal with this is being able to “white out” / delete unwanted text in the rectangle) All input and output will be in PDF format only- no conversion to jpg/tiff etc. (note- examples are provided in jpg for illustration purposes only. The edited files are ALWAYS pdf files with embedded text) When the crop files are created, all text outside the crop box is removed by the tool; text within the crop box is saved. So “searches” of the clipped PDF or pdf2text output will NOT find the text that was removed (hiding it is not enough) Crop files must have the visible content (the remnants after the crop) centered horizontally and placed 1.5” from the top of the page Optional: Titles may be highlighted for each article (based on font size?), and written to a text file when clips are created Description/example of Optimal Clipping Process: User opens PDF in tool (e.g. [login to view URL]) User searches for keyword in pdf (CTRL-F?)
