I have already work on drupal site porfomance issue. If you updated all the module and drupal core then that will not have any issue with performance. if you have custom module or if the upgradtion is not done properly then only the site performnace affected. if your site is hosted on a bad server then also it will affect the site performance. If that is not the case then have to find all the logs and have to fix all one by one.
