Set up Phonegap geolocation as a background process on iOS

We are developing a hybrid (PhoneGap) app that tracks users location as a security service for employees performing potentially dangerous work alone. The app sends the position regurlarly to our servers. This is working nicely in Android (active and passive) and on iOS in active mode. However when running in the background iOS does not get the position from the mobile but returns with an error: "Position retrieval timed out.". We need help getting the position in background mode on iOS. To be clear: The project is complete. The only thing we need help with is making the correct settings (probably in the config.xml-file) to make geolocation in the background work on iOS. See details below. We are using cordova geolocation with the [login to view URL] content as follows: <feature name="Geolocation"> <param name="android-package" value="[login to view URL]" source="npm"/> </feature> <feature name="[login to view URL]"/>' <gap:plugin name="cordova-plugin-advanced-geolocation" source="npm" /> <gap:plugin name="cordova-plugin-geolocation" source="npm" /> To run as a background service we use: <plugin name="cordova-plugin-background-mode" spec="^0.7.2" /> We have tried a lot of different settings using NSLocationAlwaysUsageDescription, NSLocationWhenInUseUsageDescription and NSLocationAlwaysAndWhenInUseUsageDescription in the plist-section of the config file. The freelancer needs to be familiar with these plugins and preferrably have a working project already using these. It is required that the freelancer can test this in their own environment and show a working test app sending data in the background to our server and then doing the same with our app. Regards, Pontus.
