build python software to monitor onewire temp sensors and enable/disable relays based on temp. building a system similar to [login to view URL] [login to view URL] (open Source) and using same hardware, but more user friendly and able to instantly read temps and have manual control. system needs to monitor 1-8 temp sensors and output current temp, need to be able to setup manual controls (on/off/auto) for all devices and full logging of devices. System will control relays based on temp (turn on cooler if hot/ turn on heater if cold) Need whole system to be able to managed via web browser with full logging. need option to have LCD with button (up, down, enter, back) to control system but e able to access all settings via web browser. Need whole run to be logged and saved to system with ability to view previous runs and have access to graph. Also will need ability to monitor and log multiple fermentations. This program will controll the initial brewing stages (heating up water, heating up water, then boiling) (couple hours) as well as the fermentating stagfes (cooling and heating) (few weeks) and be able to monitor multiple fetments. This will be a multiple state project. and this job is for the first stage. Want developer who is able in future for other stages and revisions. Next stage will add ability to setup a program and have system send instructions to LCD with current temp and monitor progression where while its running user only needs to hit enter to read next instruction. This stage is not part of this project and will be seperate.

The best way to attack this project is using Firmata to control directly from the Pi with Python the Arduino board. Programming as well a Python web interface to change the settings over any browser.

Hi, I have worked on several projects using Raspberry pi and Arduino. While interfacing raspberry pi with Arduino, we need to setup a protocol between these two first. This will allow us to communicate properly between these two and also to expand the system. Here we have the choice of having display with either Arduino or with the Raspberry pi. If you need to monitor more than 6 analog input (sensor readings) we need to use Arduino Mega board. If the sensors are 6 or below then we can use non-mega boards. I have Rasberry pi 2, Arduino Uno board, relay boards etc. If any other hardware require for this project (like mega board and sensors etc), either you can buy and send it to me or I will buy it locally and you need to pay for that. I have experience in embedded programming. I can implement this system using RPi or STM MCU (Arduino also an option). We can discuss details. By your requirements you need web GUI for this, I think RPi with GPIO is most prefered option

This looks like a very interesting project and I am keen to work on it. I am experienced in Arduino programming, and also know the Python programming language, as well as Javascript and PHP. I have in the past worked on a not too dissimilar system that controlled the heating of a house. Like your project, this involved the reading of multiple temperature sensors, and the controlling of heating elements and valves via relays based on these temperatures. Through a custom interface displayed on an LCD screen, the user was able to view temperatures and relay states, manually control relays, and also program automatic responses to temperature changes - which could be different depending on the time of day and day in the week. With regards to your project, I understand that you want to be able to communicate with the Arduino directly from the raspberry pi, and have the raspberry pi work as a web server, allowing you to control the brewing process through a web browser. To do this, I would build on the Brewpi program, making the user interface more friendly, and adding the features you require. This would give you your desired system without loosing the intelligent algorithms that are used by the brewpi program to manage the brewing process.
