I need some help with installing source code from github onto a Linux server. The source code once installed is a trip planner webUI provided by http://opentripplanner.org. More info from: [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] The end result I'm looking for is, a working system that looks similar to this: [login to view URL] or this: [login to view URL] both of which are using OTP and Openstreetmap as map data. The system requires data format in GTFS: [login to view URL] I also need to have the web-based backend data editor installed, to work with the trip planner front-end. The source code is available via: [login to view URL] Someone with good Linux skills should be able to do this in 3-5 days. I will provide you with GTFS files to upload into the system, which can then be edited via GTFS Editor and perform trip planning using the OPT web interface. NOTE: This is NOT about designing a website or building a website from scratch. This is simply to install a fully working web-based service in Java with PostgresSQL on Linux box. Do you have the right experience and are you up for it? Please do not bid if you don't have experience with compiling code, software installation and configuration on a bare linux box.

I run a small web hosting server, have been in IT for 15 years and have experience installing/configuring all sorts of software on Debian and CentOS, but I'm not averse to using Ubuntu LTS (pretty similar to Debian anyway), depending on the software's requirements. I'm presuming this is a clean VPS/Hybrid server with no OS, but I can work on a pre-existing server, if this is the case. This looks like a pretty interesting break from setting up VPSs and troubleshooting mail delivery issues. It also works for me because I don't do any development, only focusing on the backend of things (web servers, mail servers, DNS, etc).
