Situation: Start-up. Objective: To create a website used by organisations or investors to assess the quality of a workforce (as a whole, not individuals i.e. not performance appraisal). Categories of likely users: 1. Guests – version with limited functionality 2. Boards of Directors; Senior Management Teams; Human Resource Professionals in order to identify strengths / opportunities for improvement; 3. Investors; Investment Analysts; Due Diligence teams in order to decide on whether to invest and how much to invest. Timeline: needs to be at a stage where I can present it at a conference on November 30th. Appearance: professional, simple, clean. Logo and colour scheme required. Key concerns: 1. Intellectual Property an issue, especially the data at the back-end; 2. Ownership of the source coding used; 3. Non disclosure agreement; 4. Data needs to be stored in the UK. Content • Introduction, explaining how to use the website / make the assessment; • Up to 11 main ways (Factors) of assessing the workforce (e.g. quality of relationships; levels of knowledge; capability for flexibility); • 5, maybe 6, Statements for each Factor, each Statement with two rating scales; • Rating scale 1 (0 - 5) assesses the importance of each item to the business in question; • Rating Scale 2 (0 - 5) assesses to the quality of the workforce based on the wording of the items; • Room for narrative under each rating in addition to the rating; • A set of benchmark scores for subsequent comparison (must be able to be edited as more organisations add data); • Separate area for definitions / clarification of meaning / help; • Data analysis to create report (multiplication / addition / division) • Requirement and facility to pay for a formal report. • Create a report based on the analysis plus any narrative provided by the users. • Send the report to me for checking. • Update the benchmark data. Subsequent website maintenance: Should subsequently be capable of being updated / maintained by my family and so technology used is important.
