Project is a small-ish redesign of a personal technology blog, and is a combined web design and web programming (CSS/SASS) assignment.* Blog is (and must still be) Jekyll-based.* Work must be submitted as Github-pull-request(s) The site: [login to view URL] The GitHub-repo: [login to view URL] Goal: * A better looking and more engaging technology blog Design goals: * A more engaging landing page ([login to view URL]) * Posts pages should look better * Posts pages should provide navigation to other (relevant?) pages * Highly readable (typography chosen for readability) Implementation requirements: * Responsive (at least as good as it is today) * Fast (not significantly slower than today) * Should (still) use SASS * Any images must be optimised for web, but still look good on retina displays * No handcrafted illustrations (I should be able find photos to illustrate future posts without to much hassle) * Any images must be licensed CC-BY-SA or less restrictive - attribution must be built into the design. * Existing features (Disqus, Clicky, RSS, dek & lede*) should still be incorporated and work IIdeas - but these are not requirements - and can be scrapped: * Use images? * Multi-column landing page (on wide screens)? * Focused post(s) on landing page(?) * Tag-based navigation between posts? * Class for e g. sidebar in posts? More information about blog: * [login to view URL] --- *) Dek & lede: [login to view URL] --- On offers: * Bids must include references/links to prior work. * I propose to split work into 3-5 short iterations: - 50% of payment split on the first 2-4 iterations of 2-5 days each - 50% of payment on completion and acceptance of last iteration - Both parties can cancel at any time but will forfeit any outstanding payment PS.
