homepage design

"We" are a team in preproduction of a documentary movie. While talking to investors, etc we want a professional homepage for this project. Mostly because we will publish a lot of content prior to the distribution to build a community around social media platforms. The homepage shall be the "blog" to link to all this content. GENERAL APPEARANCE: Our homepage is not only a portrait or landing page for our movie project. We are building an information platform. The site`s structure shall follow this. So examples of what we want to achieve would be a blog/ magazine with a clear structure. The site shall have all content organized in a way, that it is easily accessible. All relevant parts must be displayed on the first page (home). We suggest that the main site is like a collage of blog posts. With the opportunity to have the content been ordered after certain topics. As a tag cloud or a small navigation menu. Like for instance „portrait videos“. Then only portrait videos posts appear. Each and every piece of content shall be treated as an blog entry. The display on the main page should also have the ability to display entries in different ways. like for instance make one entry bigger or sticky. We also need a simple system of navigation. Like a color code for different pieces of content, etc. Besides only two other pages than the main page. The types of content can be a blog entry with images and text. A video only (posted only Youtube) or other media like a podcast on Itunes. The display of the content shall be previews with a mix of picture and short text/ tagline. Once clicked on it it shall get bigger or fill the whole size. We need consulting which is the best method here. It shall work fluently and easy. As content we will have: 01 What/Project description. A short explanation of what our platform is. If possible this is visible on the main page only for first time visitors. In a prominent place and size. Maybe just as a blog article as well. I`d like to use a video for this. But also text and images 02 About us about team members. Actually the same as other blog entries 03 Articles with/ or without media Video Categories (Will be posted on Youtube): Vlog Education (How to) Portraits / People Topics (Legal information, etc) Blogs Blog/ Production Diary Podcasts Music SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS: The site shall have the links to our social media channels in a prominent spot. On a bar on one of the sides or on the top. Simple an plain with: „Stay in touch“ then the logos. For facebook, twitter, instagram, youtube, iTunes, soundcloud Important Notes: Our logo must be used within the navigation Our logo must be used as the site`s icon When clicking on one of the blog articles, an opt in for the newsletter shall appear. And with it a donation option. (Later then a link to the crowdfunding). Questions: Which is the best option for donations? I don`t approve Paypal ;-) What else shall be considered/ is important to have a nice usability of the site? How can you link the site to Google Analytics How can you make the content intelligent, meaning most popular articles are shown first? IMPORTANT UPDATE: 1.) The graphic artworks are not done yet, but will look like the title intro of "Catch me if you can". A design like illustration from "Saul Bass". 2.) By the nature of our request the homepage must be set up in a way (for instance wordpress) that we can easily implement blog entries or change artworks on the site.
