Hello, I can do it as you've described. Not sure about fast reports, just never used in my delphi applications, but the layout will be editable in any case :) I have an old dotmatrix printer at home Epson LX-1050 A3+, but I think current software supports any printer being installed in the windows. But if you want have very high speed of printing without of slowly windows graphics driver, I think this also possible.
