We need a simple tool, that will add a user and password to the [login to view URL] of an existing Firebird Installation. Reason is, that one of our products does not work with the default user SYSDBA, but instead with a custom user. The tool itself should be just a simple executable without any GUI or possibitlities to configure. Simply search for the [login to view URL] on the local machine, connect to it and add the desired username and password. Requirements: Tool needs to be written in Delphi. Only use Delphi components - no third party tools. Tool needs to be able to work with Firebird 2.0, Firebird 2.1 and Firebird 2.5. Project is successful, if everything works on our test computers with Windows XP SP3, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 and the above mentioned Firebird versions. Please let me know, if you need more Information.

Hi, I am Delphi expert with years behind me in using FB/IB databases. I know how to add user name, but one note, official/recommended way of doing that is to connect to FB services and then add username, there is no need to manually change security2.fdb. Also before adding new user, app must connect to fb using some existing user (SYSDBA or some other already existing).

Can't you just use Gsec from Firebird? In case you want to hide command from user it could be launched from another .exe program written in Delphi. I can make this program for you if that is what you need.

Hello, it must be easy. In one hour, I give you an answer - does my program ready or not. (I don't worked with firebird before) IDE: Delphi XE7. ______________________ Added: Oh, this DB API - new every version, manuals not actual ... reinstalling IDE. It will cost more.
