A small web site, which means poverty stricken, wants to hire someone to transcribe a 90 minute interview.
Interviewee, a man, is intelligent, speaks clearly and at a reasonable pace. He has a good voice, and is comfortable being interviewed. Most of all, he's interesting and knows how to tell a good story.
Interviewer is a woman, wise enough to let the interviewee do 99% of the talking.
A good keyboardist qua typist, working with a head set, should be able to complete the project in 2.5 hours.
English must be your first language, and you should be able to punctuate the transcript, within reason. You must have an above average familiarity with North American pop culture. You must be able to pick up on nuances, as interviewee operates in a niche, but there's little jargon, slang or argot in the interview. A degree, in Arts or the Social Sciences, is preferred, but not necessary.
Interview sent to you, via You Send It, in MP3 format. We'll provide an e-mail address for you to submit your work.
Payment process:
If you accept the project, we escrow the full amount.
No up-front pay out. Honestly, we've been burned too many times to go this route.
We pay 40% on submission of an acceptable transcript. Expect to receive these funds an hour or two after you submit, excluding middle of the night. “Acceptable” means no obvious gaps, in the transcript, and a complete, not a partial transcript. We do a quick read and, if okay, release the partial payment, right away.
We pay 60% after we have a chance to review your transcription. This may take up to a day or two, but definitely ASAP. If there are large gaps in the transcript, which aren't reflected in the recording, we'll ask you to complete the project before completing payment.
Please, do not bid if you don't intend to complete the project, if you hope to up-sell us, if you don't agree with the payment schedule or if you don't meet the requirements.
If there's a winning bid, it'll be selected and the bidder notified by 17 August 2008.
