I want to create an app that tells a story. You can invite anyone you'd like to participate in the story, but you can only write one word at a time, and everyone has to take their turn saying there one word of the story. The story always starts like this: "Once upon a time..." Here is how it works. John would like to invite 5 of his friend to help him write a story, so he invites 5 of his contacts to the join him in writing the story (app will need to able to access contacts". John has invited Justin, Jennifer, Jessica, Sarah, and Alayna to help him write his story. They all accepted. It is John's turn to start the story with the first word. He begins with "There". It is Justin's turn to respond next, he writes "was". Jennifer follows with the word "a". Jessica responds next with "large". Sarah responds next with the word "door" and decides to add punctuation. So far we have, "once upon a time... There was a large door." People can always add punctuation as they see fit. Alayna responds with, "It". So now we have: "Once upon a time... There was a large door. It...". And this continues for as long as the people writing this particular story want. Either just an hour or two, or possibly years. I am calling this app , The Omni Story. Once you have been invited you are part of the story to stay. You are only out of the story if you fail to respond to anything for 16 hours. Then you are automatically booted from the story and can only return to the story if invited by the person who started the story. In this case, that would be John. However, anyone who is participating in the story can invite other contacts to join in. The original author is always listed at the top, contributing authors are listed in another screen in the app. Each person has an allotted amount of time to submit their word. This time can be set before the story starts and can be anywhere from 5 minutes to 4 hours. As each individual adds their word, they can read as the story unfolds. The stories can be saved at any time on the phone (preferably notepad in iPhone or something similar in android phones). Or the story can be saved within the app itself. Or the story can be emailed. I would also love for the story to be able to be posted to facebook if possible. It is a simple app with not too many bells and whistles. People are limited to one word and one word only, and all punctuation is allowed so far. I would like the interface to be clean and uncluttered with a minimalist design. I would like notifications to be sent to all persons in the story to let them know who added the next word, and what the word was. I would also like there to be a way that you can click on a certain word and see who wrote it and when. I want to have a very simple way of creating an account that only requires a first name, email, and location. That is all for now. Thanks!
