I'm looking to have a program created that will scrape all box score information from College Basketball box scores from:
[login to view URL];page=cbask/scores/live/[login to view URL]
The above link is to yesterday's (11/9/09) scores, but I would want it to scrape box scores from the day before.
An example box score is located at:
[login to view URL];page=cbask/scores/final/[login to view URL]
It appears that each college basketball game is assigned a GameID, if I needed to input these, I guess I could, but it would be nice not to have to.
I would like the final product to be a .csv file that lists all players and their box scores for the day. So for the above website example, I would like one file for 11/9/09 that lists each player's box score. I would like the following data columns:
Team
First Name
First Initial (if player has initials for a first name like D.J., use both initials in this field)
Last Name (if player has a suffix such as Jr. or III, include this)
MIN
FG
FGA
3P
3PA
FT
FTA
OR
DR
TOT
A
PF
ST
TO
BL
PTS
I have attached a sample output that I am looking for.
I can do this for you! Python or .NET pick your poison of choice :) In fact I've already made strides for getting this project done (in Python), just as a fun little exercise for myself. Let me know and I'll finish it and polish it up for you!
