Code to Transpose Musical Notes (VB or RealBASIC)

I need a function written in RealBASIC or VB that is called like this: newNote = Transpose(currentNote, originalKey, newKey) currentNote is a string containing a musical note such as A, G, D7, F#m, etc. originalKey is the key that the song was in originally and is a string such as A, Bb, Cm, F#, etc. newKey is the key that the song is being changed to and is a string such as A, Bb, C, F#m, etc. newNote is a string containing the transposed note. Here's a sample of what would happen in a real call: newNote = Transpose("Dm", "C", "E") newNote now holds this string: F#m You'll not only need to know how to code, but knowing music theory is a must (or knowing where to find the info needed, anyway). Please put the function inside a sample app that takes a note from one edit field and after the transposition puts the new note in a different edit field. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables): a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform If done in VB it needs to run on Windows XP, of course. I'd prefer if the code was written in RealBASIC -- in which case I don't care what platform you use (Windows or Mac).
