Hello, We require a very simple "bidding" system to be built whereby a number of people are able to place bids and see other bids updated live in a table without the need to refresh the page and have the data updated instantly upon a change in the MySQL table. At present we're using Bootstrap ([login to view URL]) for our project and the use of the tables within Bootstrap. The table will have a field of 'bid' which needs to be shown on the page and allow for a bid to be placed, and when that bid is placed the data needs to be updated and shown to anyone else viewing the page. If the bid you placed is lower than what a new bid is it needs to be shown on screen and the table row updated to show red using Bootstrap CSS - [login to view URL] Other data will be required to show in the table so it needs to be possible for us to change the MySQL query to show the other fields in the table. At a certain time (eg. 3PM) we need to be able to prevent additional bidding taking place until we open bids again.

Hello This WILL put alot of pressure on your MySQL database unless you have good caching. I've built auction system for a penny auction site in the past, and it's been rather taxing on the system. Anyway.. what you need is AJAX. AJAX is a Javascript technique which makes requests to a server without having to refresh or navigate to another page. Is there an existing database layout in place? Are there existing scripts to place/remove bids? Sorry but I did not get those questions answered from your project description, and it changes the amount of time it will take a bit.
