Creation of a daily deals product XML feed

We have a Magento store with the Daily Deal extension installed. We also have the Data Feed Manager extension installed to creat XML-feeds. Both extensions work great. Now we want to create a new XML-feed that only contains the product that is the deal of that day. In order to achieve this we think the Daily Deal extension (which is 100% Open Source and meets Magentos programming practices) needs to be extended to add an attribute to the product that is the daily deal of that day, so we can filter on this attribute when creating the new feed. In short we need the Daily Deal extension to be customized or any other solution to create an XML-feed that contains the product that is the daily deal.
