CSS/graphic - improve site appearance and design new logo

The appearance of my site looks dated and I want to make it look more modern. The site appearance is almost 100% external CSS driven and the contractor will edit/change existing CSS to improve the site appearance. Basic layout of the site will remain as it is. All pages on the site have the same basic appearance, so the contractor will be working on just one page. I also have a small logo which I want to replace with something that looks more professional. Contractor will need to have a good eye for attractive design and colour blends. Any graphics provided must be royalty free. The new design should not impact on page load times, so large graphics files are out. ## Deliverables The site layout is essentially three-column layout. At the top of each page there is the logo and to its right header text. Next is the site nav bar which is the width of the content. This section of the page does not scroll. The rest of the page does scroll. Next is an ad box which is centered over content. The content section is three columns. Col 1: Menu and/or horizontal ad block, one above the other Col 2: Content - for most pages this is a list of names with address, phone, services and email icon. I would like a neater look for these lists. There are some spacing issues here and I would like a border around the list preferably with rounded corners. Col 3: Image and/or horizontal ad block, one above the other The nav bar is repeated at the bottom of the page. Requirements: The page must render correctly in the latest versions of Firefox, IE and Chrome. If the surfer zooms in, the layout must not break, so I would like percentage sizes rather then ems or pixels. The majority of visitors are 40+, so font sizes should not be small. The page must look professional and modern with nicely blending colours and background. The appearance of the nav bar and menu need to be improved. Nav bar and menu need to be able to support addition/deletion of items. CSS needs to be fully documented and 100% external. Changes are required only to the CSS classes already defined. Since it is difficult to evaluate what any bidder can do, it might be an idea to edit the CSS file and send me a screenshot of the resulting new demopage.
