I have 6 years of experience in website administration. I have created webpages using html/php/perl. I have also used MySQL for the database part. From my experience in hosting industry, I can suggest that the contact page has to be very simple, otherwise the chances of customers contacting you can go down. However, it should also have security features so that robots do not spam you using your contacts page. The index/landing page can be designed according to your needs.
