1. Objectives The objectives of this website redesign are as follows: • To be a dynamic, interactive storefront and interactive client interface with project management (our clients should be able to log in, view work in progress) • The website should demonstrate our creativity in its design- modern, clean, easy to navigate, very visual, not text heavy, anticipate the browser’s needs • The website should integrate our company logo as a key feature • The website should use creative/clever icons as menu features • Implement a content management system to allow users (of varying degrees of technical fluency) to upload content to the website and the creation of custom landing pages • Facilitate the implementation of web marketing techniques, such as email, retargeting, and social media • Incorporate a database for storing visitor and user information • Internet presence that professionally represents the organization • Conversion of visitors to the website into customers 2. User Characteristics i. Most users are from within the Caribbean and Latin America ii. Website should be able to run on lower resolution screens and cater to slower internet connections iii. Users are expected to be computer literate with modest experience using the internet 3. Design Requirements The following are overall requirements for this project: • Intuitive and easy to navigate website The website design should be visually appealing, with a consistent and professional theme. It should provide easy navigation throughout which minimizes the number of clicks required to navigate the site. We are looking for a design that incorporates our logo and brand colors • Project Management Interface Clients should be able to log in and view their current work, make comments and changes if necessary. Request quotes, fill out brief forms etc. • Modern Web Design/ Compatibility Website should be developed utilizing modern web design and standards, compatible with modern browsers while providing graceful degradation for older browsers. This design should be mobile device friendly. • Increase Engagement and Conversion The website design should engage visitors and facilitate the conversion of visitors to customers. 4. Functional Requirements a. Search Functionality The site should feature a detailed search feature that allows indexing of all pages and relevant content, based on tags. b. Analytics/ Usage Tracking We currently use the Google Analytics platform for basic web analytics data including visitor traffic, however, the analytics platform is not setup for goals. c. Content Management System (CMS) The site must have a content management system that allows technical and non-technical users to post content, update the website and create custom landing pages. Features • Uploads: images, pdfs, word documents and other file types • Social Media Integration • Custom landing pages d. Customer Relationship Management System We are currently exploring the implementation of a customer relationship management system into its web marketing strategy. The company is exploring a number of potential offerings including Sugar CRM and Hubspot. The website design should seamlessly integrate with potential CRM options. e. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) The website should be optimized for major search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing) and apply ethical practices. f. Media The website should allow embedding from YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus g. Blog The website should have blog functionality for posting articles, news clippings, videos, and other content. These content elements should be able to be featured on the homepage of the website. h. Social Integration Visitors should be able to directly share posts and other content to major social media channels. In addition, visitors should be able to use their Facebook, Twitter profile or Google Plus account to comment on blog posts.
