I suggest you to use Microsoft Access for the solution as there you will be able to maintain data through forms easily and data will be stored securely. Hello, I can design a Microsoft Access Database for your Eye Doctor Office that will fill all your needs that you requested. Access is a little different then Excel but I believe it will benefit you in the long run. I can add fields in the database for all the data you requested (Patient Name, Insurance, Balance, etc...). I can setup the Database with a form view where you can view all you important information like you already had in your spreadsheet. I can make a dynamic form per patient that you would open when seeing a patient and this form would have all the patient information on it that's stored in the database. I can setup an end-of-day ledger report that you can run at the end of bussiness day to see all your total fees paid by patients. I can setup a back-end database where all the data stored. I will also setup a front-end database for multiple people to use if you would like. This front-end database will have all your forms and report for viewing. You will add all your data through these forms so you don't really need to know anything about Access. Hi doctor, I believe Excel is not a good choice to build a solution around. Excel is good to deal with unstructured data however when it comes to structured data ( patients, Payments, etc) you need a database management system. I would recommend to build a solution in Microsoft Access where you can perform all of the required functionalities with a user-friendly interface; a few clicks and you get what you want. with Access, you will be able to perform daily work as well as generate statistics and reports on a daily, weekly, monthly basis. What You think about Lotus Notes database for this operation? It's a good solution for so databases, with big count of text fields, for example operation description, receipe, photo, if need. If You planned a businss expansion, this database can be groved to any count of users, with power security and access levels. Lotus can write letters for You and patiences with remember ot other messages. Of course, this solution have a lake - original 'lotus' interface.
