Depth Register TIFF Image I would like to build a VB.NET application that does the following: I have TIFF images approximately 1824 pixels wide and 26,400 pixels in height. 200x200 resolution. Uses CITT compression? The TIFFs are high resolution scans of drilling logs. They contain various curves representing rock properties. They are oriented by depth, the long dimension of the bitmap (height) is depth. The images are labelled by depth every 100 feet from top to bottom, 2100, 2200, 2300 etc. all the way to total depth. What I want the app to be able to do is: 1.) I want to register the bitmap pixels to depth. The depths are clearly marked and the depth scale is constant top to bottom so I'm not sure how many depth points would need to be registered. I'm thinking something like X=600 Y=12,000 pixels =Y is 10,000 feet; X=600 Y= 14,000 pixels= Y is 11,000 feet 2.) Once it's depth registered (however we do that) I want to be able to click on a point on the bitmap and have a list box pop up that has a list of horizon names (which I have set up somewhere else in the app). These are just names to associate with a particular depth. I want to associate the depth I clicked on with a particular horizon name I select from the list box. 3.) I want to automatically store those 3 values, depth I clicked on, name of the horizon and TIFF or filename in an Access database. I need to be able to edit them, delete them, adjust them, slide them up and down at any time. 4.) I want to display the horizon name and depth and some sort of visible horizontal line on the image. I would want to store this info with the image somehow so that next time I opened the image I could see the TIFF and the data I had entered. 5.) I want the image to display vertically or horizontally while I am working with it. I want the ability to zoom in and out and pan or drag the image up or down or left and right. ## Deliverables would like to build a VB.NET application that does the following: I have TIFF images approximately 1824 pixels wide and 26,400 pixels in height. 200x200 resolution. Uses CITT compression? I have thousands of these that vary some in their dimensions but they were all scanned in the same consistent way. Not sure how to do this?? The depths are clearly marked on the image and the depth scale is constant top to bottom so I'm not sure how many depth points would need to be registered. The XY coordinates on the Bitmap in Pixels are available and I need to associate those with a depth scale somehow. The app needs to have a "image depth registration" functionality. I'm thinking something like X=600 Y=12,000 pixels =Y is 10,000 feet; X=600 Y= 14,000 pixels= Y is 11,000 feet. Not sure how to do this. 2.) Once it's depth registered (however we do that) I want to be able to click on a point on the bitmap and have a list box pop up that has a list of horizon names (which I have set up somewhere else in the app). These are just names to associate with a particular depth. I want to associate the depth I clicked on in the image with a particular horizon name I select from the list box. So I click on the image at a particular point, it grabs the depth from the click, I select a particular horizon from a horizon drop down and these two values along with the name of the TIFF file get associated with one another. I may have as many as 20 or 30 horizons marked and displayed up and down the image. 5.) I want the option to display and work with the image vertically or horizontally while I am working with it. I want the ability to zoom in and out and pan or drag the image up or down or left and right depending on orientation. See the attached application for an example. I'll be working with hundreds of images, one at a time probably. 6.) I may want to be able to see and work with more than one image at a time in the application. ## Platform Windows 2000 or XP
