Academic Writing

I give handouts/outlines to students on various different topics. I had someone write outlines for me, and since that time it has come to my attention that some of the work is not original but may have been copied from another source. I would like to see how much of the work is copied. I would like someone to compare the word document contents to the PDF. I am open to suggestions for how this should be done, but my thought is it would go as follows: 1) Start with the word document and find the corresponding section in the PDF 2) Where the text of the word document is the same as that in the PDF, use the highlighting tool in word to highlight the the portion of text that looks like it is copied. If it is not copied, then leave it as is. 3) On the PDF, put a check mark or something next to the paragraphs / sentences that also appeared in the word document and were highlight in #2. In general, since both documents are talking about the same thing, they’re going to be somewhat similar anyway. My goal is to find out which sentences in the word document appear copied (word for word, or almost identical). In addition, I want to be able to look through the PDF and see what sections were not included in the word document (i.e. there would be no check mark). The word document is 31 pages. Thank you!
