Hi I'm Jack, I'm a student at the University of Edinburgh studying Spanish and Linguistics and I'm just finishing up my final year after a year of studying in Salamanca, Spain. I am very keen to get some serious translation experience as up to this point I have only translated documents voluntarily for occasional firms, websites and friends, and of course in my studies. I have a particular passion for food and travel writing shown by the fact I have worked as a chef in restaurants and written articles on food and travel. I also have experience in the domain of literary translation which I do a lot of at university and I would love to continue as much as I can. As for proof reading, as a student at the University of Edinburgh I have had extensive experience of correcting and providing feedback on various pieces of work (exercises/essays/articles) for friends and strangers. This year in Salamanca I have continued that, as many of my friends here who study English ask me to help proof read and give feedback on their work. Furthermore, last year I took part in a language exchange withe the University of Caldas, Colombia which involved me regularly correcting my Colombian buddy's work and monitoring her progress and suggesting improvements. Further, as a qualified TEFL teacher I have always had to pay close attention to errors of grammar and vocabulary in my tutoring and as such feel very confident proofreading any type of written discourse.
