Graphic Designer

I am a Graphic Designer from Scotland who is currently working at the Madrid based design company Barfutura. I graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in June 2011 and whilst studying I worked on many live projects including a making a music video for Polydor Records and hosting a the Scottish Premier of Died Young Styed Pretty; a film about rock posters. I am hard working and brilliant at multi tasking. I like trying new possibilities and creating up to the minute design. I have a great attention to detail and like nothing more than than a challenge whether it be working with typography on a logo design or doing a page layout for a 200 page hardback book. I want to make work that really matters to people so this is an ideal platform. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss a project.

This is the screen printed poster I made for the Scottish Premier of Died Young Stayed Pretty; A Film About Rock Posters. I organised the event along with the rest of these peöple in 2009. The poster then appeared on the inside cover of the film's UK release.

During my final year of university I was a founding member of a student design collective called Bull x Skones. Over the course of the year we held a live drawing and film premier event, took part in the London Zine Symposium, made a lot of merchandise and hosted a 'Bullfest.' This experience taught me to multi task and to organise as I was the person motivating and tracking the group of ten.

I've Zine You was organised by myself and Vangeli because we share a passion for independent publishing with a focus on design and illustration and wanted to she a little more light on it. I designed the poster and t-shirts that were screen printed as well as the blog. The event took place in at the Book Trust, Edinburgh, at the end of the Festival in 2010. There were many brilliant Zinesters who took part from all corners of the UK and beyond.

These type posters were to represent the colliding of cultures that happens when British people travel and encourages them to embrace local customs. It focuses on India, Korea and Arabian cultures I used quotes from classic British TV programmes where the main characters talk ignorantly about that area. I then and contrasted it with a pattern made using only punctuation to represent each culture. These delicate patterns stand for the small details that can be all to easily missed when Brits go abroad and expect a home from home.

I then acid etched the text patterns and embossed them.
