What needs to be done?
1. Add a button to the product page to start the collect campaign
2. Create the collect form to start a collect purchase
3. Modify/Create the crowdfunding page
4. Modify payment process page
What is the current situation?
Our store is built with Prestashop (one of the most popular e-commerce systems) using a standard template and a crowdfunding plug-in (Prestashop Add-On). The problem is that it doesn’t support all the required functionalities we need for the process explained above. For example, some of the main problems or limitations with that plug-in are the following:
• The crowdfunding creation process is only available in the back office to the administrator.
• There is no automatic way to link a product to a crowdfunding/collect campaign. Further the crowfunding campaigns are linked to rewards.
• The participants can’t change the amount he/she wants to contribute. The amount is pre-determined and linked to a reward.
However, the developer can solve the above issues by choosing the best plug-in, modifying the plug-in or in the worst-case scenario only if it’s necessary, develop a new plug-in.
