I need to stored procedure targeted for Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Table one: Category Fields CatID(int, primary) CatName(varchar(50)) ParentCatID(int) Table two: Product Fields ProdID(int, primary) ProdName(varchar(50)) CatID(int) Product is related to Category with CatID. Category is related to Category with CatID and ParentCatID (meaning Category can have arbitrary depth) needed Procedure one: given a catid, this procedure will return all prodName and prodID including ProdID found using catid's all child catid. CatID CatName ParentCatID 1 Books 0 2 Computer 0 3 MathBooks 1 4 ProgrammingBooks 1 5 C++ Book 4 5 Hardware 2 6 Software 2 7 Games 6 prodID ProdName CatID 1 Age of empire 7 2 MS Word 6 3 Harddisk 5 4 Desktop 2 given catid 6 this will return MSWORD and Age of empires. given 2 this will return Desktop, Harddisk, MSWORD and Age of empires. needed procedure two: given a catid, this stored procedure will return all of its parent catid. for example, given catid 6 this will return 6,2 in a ordered way from child to highest parent. please contact me if you need further clarification thanks
