I need a javascript dhtml layer system, which can move rows up and down within a table on a web page. (The rows could themselves be tables, if necessary, each as its own layer). Each row would have an UP and DOWN button at the beginning, and clicking on, say, the DOWN button on a row, would swap that row with the one below it.

However, the rows will be dynamically generated from a database (ASP/MS-SQL), and will have quite a lot of data in, including images and form elements (lists, textfields, checkboxes etc), which need to maintain their data during this swapping.

Hopefully you get the idea - it is to manage a list of jobs of various priority, and the jobs need to be moved up and down the list according to circumstances. When the re-ordering of the list is complete, the whole dataset would need to be saved back to the database, preserving the final order, so as well as moving the rows up and down, a hidden form field for each row would need to hold the (updated) position number for each row, so that the final order can be saved.

Is this possible, and can someone do it? If they can, then there may well be follow-on work with other aspects of the project.

If my budget is unrealistic please advise me.
