Educational videos: Brief
Project overview:
The International Centre for Eye Health (ICEH) at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is developing a number of free online courses over the next 3 years. The courses are aimed at a global audience of eye care professionals and cover a range of topics. The course content (videos, articles, quizzes etc) are published as Open Educational Resources which are freely available to teachers and learners to download and reuse.
Short instructional videos (~8 minutes long on average) are a core content type in these courses. These are designed to be usable on desktop, tablet and mobile devices across multiple operating systems and applications.
4 kinds of visuals are used in these videos.
· Animated text and graphics (presentation style)
· Whiteboard ‘hand written’ equations
· Photographs
· Talking head (these sections are used occasionally and will be inserted by ICEH separately)
ICEH is looking to engage freelance animators to help us create 20 of these videos over the next few months. Further videos will be required later this year and into 2016/17.
For each video, or section of video, ICEH will supply:
· Storyboard (script and notes on visuals)
· Audio file
· Photographs to be included in the video (note: all photos used must be available under the Creative Commons license)

We are looking to hire freelance animators who can broadly follow this style and improve the quality of animation.
