Coldfusion CMS Backorder Mod

We have a custom built coldfusion ecommerce website and CMS. We need a mod to our CMS to let customers know that certain items they ordered are on backorder. I'm open to suggestions on how this can be done, but here is what I was thinking: our sales admin page contains an order summary, and all of the customer billing/shipping info. On this page we also have radio buttons to mark the order as new, shipped, or declined. Currently, when we mark a sale as shipped, an email is automatically sent to the customer containing the entire order summary. What I think could be done is to add another radio button for backorders and checkboxes next to the items in the order summary. I would check the box next to the backordered items in the order summary, click the backorder radio button, and the customer would be sent an email notifying them those items are backordered, expected to ship in one week, etc. When the shipped button is clicked, the email would contain only the items that are shipped, not the backordered items. Also, our website contains a "my account" area where customers login to see the order status. The backorder info would also have to appear in the order status in my account area.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working mod of our CMS/website on our server. Mod will be fully tested as working. A backup of modified CMS pages will be made to ensure there is no interruption to our CMS/website function. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
